Michie Wong
With over 17 years of experience in the fire and life-safety sector, Michie Wong recently retired as the San Francisco Fire Marshall. She is highly skilled in code interpretation and was recruited to work on major transportation projects such as the Transbay Transit Center, Central Subway, and Presidio Parkway. Her ability to collaborate with project managers and regulatory agencies played a crucial role in her appointment as Fire Marshall - Deputy Chief, Division of Fire Prevention and Investigation by Mayor Ed Lee. In this position, Michie oversaw FIRE permitting, inspections, and Code development.
During her tenure as Fire Marshall, Michie addressed fire-related fatalities in underserved neighborhoods and facilitated the installation of smoke alarms through collaboration with the Red Cross, Housing Inspection, and the Fire Department. She was also involved in a street-use think tank focused on understanding the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, and first responders.
With her deep understanding of code interpretation and her commitment to collaboration among public agencies, developers, community groups, and City Hall, Michie Wong is dedicated to ensuring the safe and flourishing development of San Francisco.
